This course is aimed at the beginner to learn all the basics for those starting a career to be able to learn skills to groom their own dog/s or work as a dog grooming assistant or carry out basic grooming and tidy up services, for example within kennels or a dog wash service, etc. Covering essential elements like bathing, drying, dematting, ear & nail care, and progressing to foundational techniques of basic clipping and scissoring skills, our professional and comprehensive training ensures you gain the confidence and competence needed. This course is 6  attedance lessons and 1 pet first aid lesson including seperate Ocn level 3 Award in pet first-aid for pet care professionals qualifcation.

  • COURSE INFO

    There's never been a better time to start a career as a dog groomer. Groomers all over the country have waiting lists or are simply refusing new clients. Graduate with all the knowledge and skills you need to succeed in the dog grooming industry! Are you ready to start an amazing career?

    This course is aimed at the beginner to get a feel of dog grooming and learn all the basics  skills to be able to groom there own dog or work as a grooming assistant or offer tidy up/bathing//ear&nail care services eg within home boarding/kennels or a dog wash service. You can also learn to fully groom 1 breed eg your own pet of you wish on this course it can be tailored to your needs.

    Throughout the course you will learn how to professionally bath, dry, groom out and deal with nails and ears on a range of dogs and get an intro into handling clippers, scissors etc  for basis foundation grooming skills.

     

    Courses run all year round so you can start at any time. Lessons are tailored to suit so you can attend 1/2/3/4/5 days per week, we also have some weekend sat/sun lessons.  Lesson duration is approx 3-3.5 hrs and you will groom one dog start to finish per lesson and complete associated training within that lesson. Weekday classes run 9.30am to approx 1/1.30pm pm daily and Sat/Sun 9am to approx 12.30pm.

    Course Fee: £1995 - You have up to 12 months from registration to complete the course- full payment required at time of booking.

    Fee includes: 6 HANDS ON lessons, plus pet first aid lesson. Scissor pack and grooming overall and grooming manual and course notes.

    On successful completion of the course students  will receive an IACC Certificate of training as well as OCNNI official  Certificate and Qualified Window Stickers. You will have ongoing email and student facebook support group Priceless!

    All tuition is by European MasterCraftsman Qualified Award winning Groomer  and Veterinary Nurse Nichola Moore L.C.G.I .

    ENROLMENT: To enrol on a course you can fill in the course enrolment form on our website or email iaccollege@aol.com on receipt we will forward you a payment link to pay by credit/debit card or you can pay via bank transfer  or online if you wish. On receipt of your deposit we will send current list of available training dates for you to choose from. Within 48hrs of enrolement we will send you links to the online learning portals so you can start the theory and online coursework. Courses run all year round and are tailored to suit.

    Nichola Moore was Northern Irelands First Uk & European MasterCraftsman , City and Guilds and LC.G.I Qualified Groomer with over 30 years industry experience. Nichola is not only a qualified Groomer but also qualified in veterinary nursing and is a leading industry consultant having helped develop many of the industry qualifications and is an examiner for many awarding bodies including City & Guilds & Open College Network. Nichola Holds a L4&5 Teaching certificate as well as assessor, verifier and external verifier. Nichola is passionate about animal care and education and enjoys teaching students to obtain their goals with many of our past student now industry achievers and awarding winning groomers and many running successful businesses over 20 years who better to train with!

  • BOOKING TERMS REFUND POLICY

    BY SIGNING UP TO A COURSE YOU AGREE TO OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS LISTED BELOW AND DECLARE THAT YOU HAVE DISCLOSED ALL REVELANT FACTS:

    50% deposit  is required at time of booking and the balance is due 7 days cleared funds prior to course start Unless a payment plan has been agreed.  Course deposits are non refundable after course enrolment under any circumstances as we reserve each space for individual students with a max of 5 students at any time and we pay the registration/insurance fees etc for each student on registration as well as sending students information and distance learning course information exclusive to our courses. We recommend you take out your own insurance to cover curtailment of the course. Should you cancel your course you will lose your deposit IE 50% OFF THE COURSE FEE. Once a course is started if you cancel the course after day one you will lose the total course fees.

    Students will be allowed ONE change of dates for attendance course at the managements discretion in the event of proof of illness/accident or close family death/jury service were it is unavoidable occurrence that the student cannot attend. All dates must be taken within 12 months on the pay as you learn  from the dates of enrolment otherwise the fees will be lost.

    All spaces are reserved exclusively for you alongside your working station and training dogs arranged for you, should you fail to turn up for any training session booked you will lose that training day. Should you fail to complete the course all fees will be forfeited for the booking reserved for you.

    Smartpets Iacc cannot be held responsible for the length of time the awarding body take to issue certificates or any injury/loss to students whilst undertaking training and in the event of any unforeseen/exceptional circumstances eg tutor illness/act of god/power failure within the salon/covid/government restrictions etc should training days/venue need to be rescheduled.

    ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Applicants must be 18 years of age or have parent or guardian’s signature.

    • Applicants must be drug/alchol free other than prescription prescribed by a medical doctor.

    Applicants should be physically and mentally fit, if you have any medical/mental health/allergy problems these must be advised prior to course booking, Pet grooming is both mentally and physically demanding and this course may not be suitable for persons with certain medical complaints. A doctors letter will be required prior to acceptance for those with medical conditions. We recommend that you check that your tetanus is up to date.

     

    CLEANING:

    As part of training, every student will be responsible cleaning of bath tub, floors, cages, tables and equipment which they use throughout there training.

    DRESS CODE:Students must come to classes dressed appropriately and wear any safety gear/overalls etc provided. Students should wear flat shoes, trousers and have no excessive jewellery except wedding rings permissable and one small set of earrings.

    STUDENT CONDUCT AND CONDITION FOR DISMISSAL:

    Students are expected to act in a mature and considerate manner in all functions in the school. The following may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or dismissal from the training program which will result in loss of all fees paid:

    • Vandalism• Consumption of alcoholic beverages/drugs

    • Smoking in non-designated area (Smoking is not prohibited in the school)

    • Physical abuse or harassment• Improper handling of animals

    • Stealing (Will be prosecuted)• Abusive Language• Poor Attitude

    IACC will do its best to teach all students of all abilities, however Iacc cannot be held responsible should a student be a slow learner and not complete all of the course objectives and require additional tuition.

    50% Deposit is required at time of booking and the balance of All tuition fees must be cleared funds at least 7 working days prior to course commencement OR PAYMENT PLAN BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT IN WRITING.
