This course is aimed at the beginner to learn all the basics of commercial pet dog grooming to groom the most popular breeds of dogs in basic pet trims and breed standard trims.

The course includes:

• 19 practical hands on lessons and will groom a range of breeds covering a range of coat types and styles learning all the head, body, foot, ears and tails styles for everyday commercial pet grooming and how to adapt these to suit a range of the most popular breeds to start grooming. All learners are taught 1:1 exclusively by Nichola Moore L.C.G.I CVetSc MCG throughout the courses at your own work station on you own training dogs which we supply throughout the course so you can progress as slowly or quickly as you are able to. You will work on our range of training dogs with a max of 1 students in the salon at any one time or 2 persons who come together. Please note from 1 st july 2026 our bangor salon is closed all training is 1:1 in our professional home salon in Ballynahinch. Throughout the course you will also build on basic clipping skills and advance to scissoring and hand stripping skills 

• 1 lesson will also cover pet first-aid and cpr so you have 20 days training days in total. 

• You will also learn all about tools, equipment maintaince, safe handling and health and safety and have access to our online theory platform which has video, information and templates on salon and business management and more.. (Please note the Diploma is the Industry standard Qualification for a fully qualified Groomer).

Qualification: Ofqual Regulated OCNNI LEVEL 3 Diploma in Commercial Dog Grooming , Animal Welfare & Salon Management includes Pet cpr and First-aid and Business Salon Management.

Attendance: 20 Hands on practical attendance dog grooming Lessons. 50 hours online home study.

5 Free Improver Grooming days within 6 months of completion of the course. Courses run all year round so you can start at any time. Lessons are tailored to suit so you can attend 1/2/3/4/5 days per week, we also have some weekend sat/sun lessons.  Lesson duration is approx 3-3.5hrs and you will groom one dog start to finish per lesson and complete associated training within that lesson. Weekday classes run 10.30am to approx 2 pm daily and Sat/Sun 10am to approx 1.30pm. Other times may be arranged please ask.
